The New Hampshire Avalanche Bantam 90C team finished the regular season in first place in the Granite State League with a record of 10-1-3, then justified their No. 1 seed by winning the Granite State League Bantam V Tournament, which included two overtime wins.

The locals earned easy wins over the Keene Cobras, 7-0, and the Hanover Wild, 5-1. Against the Hollis Cavaliers, the Avs lost Shawn Russell to a broken arm, but tied the Cavs, 1-1.

In the semifinals against the Concord Capitals, the Avalanche outshot the Caps, 37-17, but faced a 2-2 tie after regulation and the first overtime. But during 3-on-3 play in the second OT, defenseman Cam Mederios buried a breakaway to win the match.

The finals, a rematch with Hollis, were just as exciting. Once again, the Avs found themselves in a 2-2 tie after regulation. Just one minute into the overtime, Mederios and Tom Porier set up the goal for Jeff McEachern.

While passing out trophies, Hanover head coach Jay Marshall said the title game was the best of the tourney, clean and well-played.
