EEE hits town

State health officials said a 4-year-old Goffstown boy might have contracted Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE). This is the second case in the past week of potential EEE infection. A Londonderry woman was hospitalized on Wednesday, Aug. 17, and a preliminary test for the disease came back positive.

Vigil on common raises quiet voices for peace

Almost 60 people gathered on Goffstown common on Wednesday, Aug. 17, for a silent vigil for peace. More than 2,000 similar vigils were held across the country in solidarity with Cindy Sheehan and other military families. Sheehan lost her son Casey in the war in Iraq and has been seeking an interview with President Bush. The political action group, MoveOn.org, requested the vigils on its Web site.

DHL burglary suspect heads to Superior Court

Probable cause has been found for one of two men charged in the December 2004 burglary of the DHL Worldwide Express warehouse in Londonderry, and the case is being turned over to the superior court.
