HOOKSETT – Three Hooksett Hurricanes Pop Warner football teams reached the playoffs this year.

The fifth-seeded Jr. Pee Wees were set to play No. 4 Amherst on Oct. 27 at Donati Field, while the No. 4 Jr. Midgets were planning to trek to fifth-seeded Londonderry on Oct. 27. Both games are quarterfinal-round battles. Semifinals are set for Sunday, Oct. 31, at a site to be determined. If victorious, the Jr. Pee Wees would play at 9 a.m., while the Jr. Midgets would kick off at 1 p.m.

The top-ranked Midgets earned a bye into the semifinals and will play at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31, against an as yet unknown opponent at an undetermined site.

The Midgets bounced back from their only loss by winning a trio of tight games to close the regular season, including consecutive comefrom behind wins.

The ’Canes spirit squads will also take part in the New Hampshire Pop Warner Cheerleading Competition at the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore Center Arena on Saturday, Oct. 30.

The competition lasts all day, with the morning competition beginning at 9 a.m. and the afternoon session starting at 1:30 p.m. Visit nhpwfc.org/competition for more information.

The ’Canes are looking for volunteers to help with playoff games. Contact Mike Daneau at 627-5136 if you can help.
