More charges

A Hooksett man is charged with two counts of negligent homicide following a Feb. 18 car crash that ultimately killed a Manchester woman and an infant boy delivered through Caesarian section.

Joshua Lamy, 23, of 26 Martins Ferry Road, Hooksett, waived a Monday, March 13, probable cause hearing and an arraignment on the two felony charges. He’s held on $100,000 bail.

Investigators say Lamy, while under the influence of alcohol, was driving more that 90 mph when he ran a red light, causing his 1992 Honda Civic to collide with a taxi cab being driven by an 18-year-old pregnant woman, Brianna Emmons, according to an affidavit supporting Lamy’s arrest.

The accident happened at the intersection of Manchester’s Maple and Blodgett streets, at about 1 a.m. on Feb. 18.

Emmons, who was seven months pregnant, suffered a broken pelvis and delivered a boy, investigators said. The baby died from injuries related to the crash on March 4, according to the affidavit.

The cab’s passenger, 39-year-old Sheila Moody, a mother of two from Manchester, died at Elliot Hospital from head injuries, three days after the accident, investigators said.

A passenger in Lamy’s car, Anthony Brown, suffered a head laceration and was treated at Elliot Hospital. Lamy sustained a ruptured spleen.

According to court records, Lamy’s criminal history includes DWI, drug possession, theft “and more.”
