Allenstown celebrates its 175th birthday

Hundreds of Allenstown residents flocked to Bear Brook State Park to celebrate Allenstown’s 175th birthday on Saturday, July 29.

Some of the event’s organizers helped put together the town’s four-day 150th birthday party 25 years ago.

The Bear Brook pavilion area, across from the Old Allenstown Meeting House was a fitting locale for the event, as the area defined the town center for decades.
