Say yes to TV, sewer
At long last, the voting season for Hooksett comes to an end with the town election on May 13. We recommend voting in favor of both the sewer bond and public-access TV. In the case of the sewer bond, the projected tax impact is 17 cents on the tax rate. That means someone with a house assessed at $300,000 would pay an extra $51 this year to pay the bond. What do you get for your money? A sewer treatment plant that is up to the job, not an antiquated plant where they can’t even buy replacement parts. Saying no won’t stop development, as some argue, as the capacity was already there for all those planned homes. Public-access TV is something most of us have been paying for anyway. Let’s get it going. The $100,000 in taxes it has been raising is a mere penny on the tax rate. That’s a whole $3 a year for those of you with $300,000 homes, but the benefits could be huge. Say yes to keeping Hooksett’s infrastructure running and community informed. - Editorials published by Neighborhood News Inc. are written by an editorial board.
